The December 2010 issue of Sunset Magazine recognized local Nevada County winery, Smith Vineyard, as a worthwhile place to stop for tasting wines and enjoying the area.  “Shortly after the article was printed on page 27, the phone started ringing from people out of the area that had seen us mentioned in Sunset," noted Chris Smith.

Sara Schneider, writer for Sunset magazine noted the “spanking new tasting room” in downtown Grass Valley as a place to visit when heading up the I-80 corridor on the way to or from Tahoe.  Sara also noted that the slight detour off of I-80 to hwy 49 to visit the Grass Valley based winery was “worthwhile”.
